Giorgio morandi e giovanni fattori, due mostre a cortina

Two will be held in Cortina d’Ampezzo (Belluno).

From 9 to 31 August, the Farsettiarte auction house hosts “Garibaldi, soldiers, brigands: a tribute to Giovanni Fattori” and “Giorgio Morandi – The magic wave of poetry”.

The former is part of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of Italian Unification. The largest group of works comprises paintings depicting episodes from Italian Unification, including Cavalry charge (The battle of the Sforzesca), from about 1880, and 1895’s Bivouac of soldiers and horses (on manoeuvres). The exhibition also explores the topic of “Women against: heroines and brigandesses” with videos, panels, and photographs depicting some of the female protagonists of the Italian Unification era. The latter exhibition showcases about twenty of Morandi’s most representative oil paintings, including Landscapes, the Courtyards of via Fondazza, Flowers, and especially his famous Still lifes.
