A.N.C.A., National Association of Italian Auction Houses was constituted on January 30, 1995.

A.N.C.A. is a member of the Brussels-based Federation of European Community Auction Houses, which brings together representatives of auction houses from European Community member countries.

The purposes of the association, which is apolitical and nonprofit, are to protect the image and development of the category, to safeguard its interests, to forge cooperative ties among members, to harmonize regulations and adapt them to the international situation, to settle disputes by favoring out-of-court settlements, and to be an authoritative interlocutor with the authorities.

On February 11, 2002, the A.N.C.A. Assembly unanimously elected Sonia Farsetti as president, a position previously held by Casimiro Porro, president of the association since its foundation.

The position was renewed in February 2023 for another three years
